Feb. 25 & 26

Feb. 25: Lecture: What is Totalitarianism? We also analyzed a Dr. Suess cartoon, and a segment of the film 1984 for glimpses of Totalitarian societies.

Feb. 26: Returned WWI tests. Finished the Total. lecture.
Homework: Reading Guide: Chapter 14, section 1.

Feb. 13: Students drew and explained the motivations of the leaders of the nations at the Paris Peace Conference.

Feb. 14: review Jeopardy.

Feb. 7, 8, 11 & 12

Feb. 7: We finished the lecture on life in the trenches and examined 5 important battles from the Western Front.

Feb. 8: Students graphed statistical information from WWI and wrote a letter from the trenches. Letter due Monday.

Feb. 11: I lectured about the Paris Peace Conference/Treaty of Versailles. Students were assigned a reading guide for homework.

Feb. 12: Students watched a short dvd segment on the Treaty of Versailles. I also asked students to draw the faces of the leaders of the victorious nations from WWI and explain in writing their motivations at the Paris Peace Conference. Due Wed.

Today students presented the powerpoints about the weapons of WWI. I also began a lecture about the conditions in the trenches.

Jan. 31: A quiz on the causes of WWI. We also watched scenes from "A Very Long Engagement" to see the conditions in the trenches.
